Well gang, like many have suggested on this board, my shifting problem was caused by the bad gear position sensor (is this the same as PNP switch)? I've the car back for a week now and it has been shifting flawlessly.
For those that haven't been following previous message on this subject, my transmission wouldn't upshift after cold start. I would move the shifter lever slight down (level still in the same gear) and it would upshift. Also, the car would stuck in the limp mode under cold weather. I brought it to my dealer and they said I had bad hydraulics in the tranny and need to replace the whole tranny. I told them to check the PNP switch and they insisted it is the tranny. I didn't argue any further as I had extended warranty on the car. The inspector from the extended company came out to inspected the car and decline the tranny replacement and authorized my dealer to replace only the gear positioning sensor. Long story short, dealer was wrong.
Later,
Kenneth
