leaking oil from bell housing area V70-XC70 2000

Klaus,
I changed oil on my bevel gear and noticed that I have a oil leak where the transmission bolts on to the engine.
It appears to be what I would call the bell housing.
There is a small vent hole on the bottom and the oil is coming from there.
Could that be coming out of the bevel gear case and leaking into that area?
