Yep, I'm goin there. I've borrowed a couple snow tires mounted on 140 wheels. They did not agree with the rear end of the 244. The wheel weights rubbed on the ear on the back of the caliper and the tire (195/65R15) rubbed on the inner wheel well (but only on the left side).
So I got to searching the archives to see just how different they are. Turns out that the offset of the 140 wheels are 40mm, the 850's 43mm. A bunch of people use FWD Volvo wheels on their 140s, just the same as 240 wheels.
Has anyone had occasion to try 140 wheels on their front-driver? It's too cold right now to try it just for kicks and I'm not particularly inclined to do it since I have only two and my others are 195/60R15 with about the same wear. Shouldn't play too many games with the ABS, but not optimal.
Would raise one or two eyebrows of a very select few people who saw it and knew what they were looking at!
