Well, remember I had previously posted about drive line play and the consensus was to not worry about it? My daughter was driving it in Atlanta and suddenly lost all forward-or reverse and it was making a screaming sound. I went to Atlanta and picked up the car with a trailer and brought it home. Found that the support bearing was not a good press fit on the axle and the axle had backed out until the splines disengaged with the differential. Measured the splines and they do not appear to be damaged, so I cleaned out the interior splines with a brush and compressed air and re-installed the axle using locktite to retain the bearing. Hopefully this will last-I'll keep an eye on the bearing location on the shaft. This was a replacement axle, has anyone heard of similar problems?
