ETS and Check Engine Lights V70-XC70

Hello All,

I bought a 2000 V70 XC recently with 107K. Within a day of buying it the ETS light came on, and now the check engine lights. The local volvo dealer said they didn't know what was wrong with it, but did say that the ETS module was functioning properly (and so would not replace it). They recommended I replace my breather box, the the main computer ground wire, the catalytic converter, oxygen sensors. Although they assured me that even when they replaced all these items they were not sure if it would fix anything. A real bunch of chumps they were. So I am coming to you guys for help.

What can I do to trouble shoot this thing? They did say the breather box was the biggest culprit but also said I would not be able to do it myself (this really ticked me off). Could the corroded ground wire to the main computer be giving me these problems. Everything drives fine. Although almost all the lights on the dash lit up the other day for no apparent reason which is making me think its more electrical in nature.

On another note this car was rear ended at one time and it makes a horrific clunking noise from the rear when I pull into a driveway and the car gets slightly racked. Any suggestions? I can' t find anything loose or obvious.

The tranny seems to be shifting very hard this past week as well but the fluid is good and clean, this thing is self destructing!

Thanks
Chad
