Hi All,
It's been a while-all three Volvo's have been troublefree all summer/till today. The 96 855 Turbo that my son has been driving had the fuel pump go bad this afternoon-has 298,000 miles on it and never been replaced. I replaced the fuel filter three times-last time was 55,000 miles ago. i don't hear the fuel pump running when I tried to start it, so I will check the fuel pump relay also. If it's the fuel pump, I don't have any problem with replacing it myself, since I have done EVERYTHING on theis car since day one as you may know from my posts. My question is this-looking at the FCP Groton website, the have the fuel pump insert listed for $221.00 and change and the fuel pump assy listed for $389.00. Can anyone tell my what the difference is and what needs to be done for the insert? My guess is the pump insert has to change over into a plastic cage of some sort and the assy is the whole package. I would appreciate any info from the "Wizards" out there...
Thanks,
LarryU
