My '97 850 sedan has developed a no spark condition....I have replaced the cam sensor, crank sensor, ignition switch, coil, traced the harness, all to no avail...the vehicle produces a timed spark as you let off the ignition switch, for 1 or 2 revolutions of the engine, until fully stopped....no spark at all while cranking....replaced the ecm with a used identical unit..voila...it runs..for 2 days..it has died again...same condition...coincidence I ask...possibly.
My sad tale continues...I installed the ecm from my other '97 volvo, a wagon with auto transmission,(the sedan is a 5 speed)...no luck..the ecm's are not the same between the two..and it gets better...now the wagon exhibits the same condition with its original ecm, as if some condition in the sedan has either fried or deprogrammed the unit from the wagon..confused yet??..I am...
Any thoughts short of napalm would be greatly appreciated...
