1997 850 T-5 Sedan - Interior Heat Issues 850 2007

Hi,

I have couple of issues I will address here.

1. First off is the strange issue. I have black (dark gray) leather interior. It seems that this interior absorbs a lot of heat during the summer months, even if it's only in the 70's. Some times it feels like the seat warmers are on when driving around when they are not. Passengers mentioned this before also. I never really noticed this with my 940 which had black leather interior. I just seems that this car radiates extra heat.

2. Also, I noticed that when I put my hand between the drivers seat and the center console, the area is extra warm to the touch. But if I feel around the back of the seat, and other areas of the interior, it's much cooler. I also felt this between the passenger seat and the center console. Does the transmission heat up that area or something?

3. Also, I have dual climate control. The dials when set to zero, the lowest temperature position, heat will still come out of the vents. (This is of course when the engine is warm.) If I turn the blower on, eventually it will cool off. Also, some times the only way to get heat, is to turn the dials all the way up to 80, but if I turn it down to 72, the heat goes off. Some times if I leave it on 72, the temperature will warm back up. Is this a thermostat issue? Expensive to fix on this car?

Thank you.

Michael
