I changed the oil about five days ago. I usually dump the 5 quart 'Mobil 1' jug and add a quart from the second jug. Then I check the dipstick and eyeball it. Well I put in too much. By my guess-timate about half a quart too much.
The car stumbled for about five minutes of driving last Thursday. It's seems okay now, but it might be driving a bit sluggish.
What harm is done when overfilling the crankcase? Does it get sucked up the intake and crude up the throttle?
I was going to use a mighty-vac and suck a half quart out through the dipstick tube, but the tube is too narrow. I think the only way to drop the oil level is via the drain plug.
The question is what damage is done by overfilling....do I need to drain it...and what is the best way?
