Hello All,
I have a 1996 850 GLT wagon that I bought new, which has 260,000 miles on it. The driver's seat and the front passenger seat have become badly worn and need to be repaired or replaced. I belive I have three options, and I'd like to have the thoughts of others regarding them:
1) Have the seats re-upholstered by a local shop with what ever material it has that matches the original leather. The car is red (color code 601) with a light tan/beige colored interior.
2) Replace the seats entirely with used seats from a salvage yard.
3) Find a company that sells replacement leather seat covers that custom fit Volvo seats that will result in a "factory installed look". Can anyone suggest such a company?
I haven't obtained price quotes yet from auto upholstery shops yet, but I want to spend the least amount of money, yet if possible have seats that are presentable in appearance. Another goal, if practical, is to hold onto the original seats. I'd like to know how others have tackled this problem. Thanks to all who respond.
Hugh
