I am going to look at a 96 850 turbo wagon.
It has 112k, timing belt done at 75k, one owner car.
It appears to be in super shape so I am hoping that translates to well cared for.
My dilemma is this. This car is going to be a daily driver for me.
Should I be looking for non turbo to keep things simple? I am coming of a 92 740 wagon, non turbo, so even going non turbo in an 850 is not going to bother me. Huge increase in HP from the 740.
I know to look at the rear seal, check for leaks I assume.
I was told to check out the AC as the evaporator(?) is an expensive item to replace. How exactly will I know if it is beat? Other than whether or not the AC works.
I was told to listen to the front end for clunks and such, funny how that is something to check 740's for as well.
Any other items of interest?
Lastly; for a daily driver, to work and back, day after day after day, would you recommend me steering clear of the turbo model and going non turbo?
A thousand thank you's in advance of your anticipated advice.
Drew
