I have done a search of the forum and thought I found a solution (disconnect the belt at the anchor on the seat bottom and feed it back in then pull out), but I don't see how this would do anything in this situation.
I have a '99 XC, and the driver's side rear seatbelt retracted too far into the seat back. I can't get it out, and I can't raise the seat back (it was in the lowered position)because the belt is far too tight.
It looks like I'll have to take the plastic covers (at the top of the seat back) off to get to the mechanism. Is this what I need to do? Are there any suggestions as to how to get the seat back apart without causing too much damage? I see what appears to be "buttons" that can be pried off, but now I think they might be plastic rivets... they didn't want to come out with a screwdriver pry.
Suggestions are much appreciated! Thank you...
Steve
