I found I had pinched an o-ring reinstalling my fuel rail, and I am wondering if anyone has any tips other than go slow when installing.
Specifically, I am wondering if it makes any difference if you put all the injectors in the intake manifold, or all in the fuel rail, before pressing together. My guess is it doesn't matter, since there are o-rings both top and bottom. I think the tip I seek is just go slow and make sure everything is aligned.
I was a bit troubled when assembling by not being able to see very well, and it appeared the two bolts were not sufficient to pull everything together tightly. In retrospect, I had the injector slightly misaligned, and this caused the hangup which manifested itself in not looking completely seated (because the o-ring was deformed).
In any event it is the case I should have just pulled this back apart before posting here. But if anyone has additional advice, it would be appreciated. I'll be headed to the stealer on Tuesday to get the o-ring and seals which went flying when the rail came off. This thing isn't all that straightforward with all five o-rings sealing simultaneously, and it is hard to get in there. Thanks, Don
