Power Antenna Repair/Replacement S70 1998

Hi All...now that I have repaired my ABS module and done the AC "bread clip" fix...thanks to all your help...I am ready to tackle the broken power antenna.

The antenna has "rusted" so that it only goes up the first length. We are taking a long driving trip and I would like to get better reception.

I have tried a couple of times to "pull" it up with a firm grip...and have tried to use WD-40 to loosen the rust...neither step has worked and it has been like this for a couple of years. BTW...it works fine...just no "reach".

Is there another repair process that I could try?

If no repair is it difficult to install a new antenna? About what does one cost and where can you buy to get a better price on an OEM part w/o going to the dealer oarts department?

Any advice would be apprecaited...Tom R in Two Harbors, Minnesota
