1998 S70 GLT Won't start on its own S70

I very recently bought a 1998 S70 GLT with 135,000 miles from Vol-Tech in Austin, Tx. The car drove great from Austin to my home in Houston. Yesterday evening I got in to drive it for the first time that day and when I turned the ignition, the lights only flickered off and on, my gauges flicked up and down, and the car wouldn't even turn over. I figured that I had just left a light on the night before and drained the battery, so I jumped it and it started right up. I left the car running for around 15 minutes, turned it off, and then came back later to see if it would start back up. When I tried to get it started, it did the same thing as earlier. I jumped it again and left it running for the same time, then took it for a spin around my area to hopefully charge up the battery. When I returned, I turned the car off and then on only to find that my problem still existed. Has anyone had a similar thing happen to them? I hope that I will just need a new battery, but I am afraid that I may have an alternator problem. Any advice on the cause of my problem would be great.
