Low Coolant Level Warning Light S70

The low coolant level warning light came on during my drive home last evening. The coolant level in the overflow tank is adequate. The temperature gage is reading normally. I would prefer to look into this further on the weekend when I have the time. Any ideas on what may be the matter here? Can I safely continue to use the vehicle for a few days?
