This past summer I had some trouble getting into the trunk of my 1995 850GLT because the trunk handle was not working. I had to lock and unlock via remote several times before the trunk latch would "catch" when the handle was pressed and work. Well it's been several months since I last opened the trunk and now the handle won't work at all. It just sort of collapsed when I put pressure on it. Is it possible to get the trunk open with the handle not working? I have access to the trunk from the inside behind the seats. Also, any ideas on why the handle won't "catch". I'm in upstate NY and salt and corrision can take it's toll springs and other metal objects that can't be cleaned well. Could something have rusted away? Thanks in advance for any comments.
