98 S70 completely dead this AM.... S70 1998

My car was absolutely dead this AM. I didn't have time to look at anything, but I have a hard time believing the battery is dead--it is less than 1 year old. No lights came on at all, even the interior lights. I will check the battery connection tonight, but isn't there a frequent problem with some transmission switch that has bad connections that could cause this symptom?
