Hi bricksters,
I've just purchased my dream car. A beautiful 1998 Saffron V70R. She performed faultlessly on the drive from her previous owner's house to her new home (3hrs). She has however developed quite rapidly over the last few days a drumming like noise that can be heard and felt throughout the whole car when turning left or right moderatly sharp, for instance around a round about. I thought I better take it to a dealer to be checked out. A technician drove the car for 20 mins with me in it and suggested it was the left hand wheel bearing. To me this seems odd as it occurs when turning both left and right.
I intitialy though it was the cv joints but as the technician stated, there is no metallic clicking sound that is usually associated with cv joints going bust on full lock. The rate at which this problem developed would rule the cv joints out aswell, would it not?
Any help or suggestions would be gretaly appreciated guys. I hope this is not going to turn into a nightmare car like so many of the older awd volvos seem to be.
Thanks again.
Nick.
