Hello-
There is a chance that I may be purchasing my best friend's '97 850 GLT sedan. I have some knowledge about the car, as it is a light-pressure turbo model, which is what I like. She's the second owner and here's what's been done to the car as of late:
Rear main seal replaced at 115k
New brakes all around at 124k
New tailpipe at 131k
Fuel pump replaced at 137k
The car currently has 141k miles on it as of a week ago. It's in okay condition but I'm saying that because my friend doesn't exactly baby it- the paint is starting to fade a bit and the front seats are showing heavy wear on them, typical of 850s whose leather isn't taken regularly taken care of. At this point in the car's life (build date 6/96) is the turbocharger good for another few miles or should it be replaced right now? Taking into account the repairs that have been done on this car and its condition, I'm inclined to offer her between $3500 and $4000 for it. She wants $5k. What do you guys here think?
