3rd Row Seat gone for V70 ?

I heard that starting with MY 2007 Volvo will no longer offer in the USA the third row seat in the V70. Is this correct ?

If so, IMHO that would be the loss of one of the best competitive advantages of the V70 in its market segment. I think the E-class MB wagon is the only other vehicle in the European (or Japanese) wagon segment that offers it, and at prices of $10k+ or more compared to the V70.

Do you know what is behind this decision ? Is it to promote XC90 sales ?
