We own a 2003 XC70 with 40,000 miles that has run trouble free to date. We have kept past Volvo's until they have 150 to 200K miles on them. We have never taken an extended warranty or experienced an expense that would have justified it on the other cars.
The complexity and AWD system of the XC has caused me to inquire about the extended warranty. I was quoted $2400 (total car coverage by a volvo dealer)to extend to 100K miles with a $100 deductible ($2000 for just power train coverage). Policy is called "Easy Care" APCO Ins..
I would welcome any comments on how the newer XC's are standing up, especailly any with higher miles (say 70K + miles. Has anyone bought an extended warrenty
and was it worth it, etc. My initial feeling is that, if Volvo has gotten bad enough to need an extended warranty to protect me from significant repairs up to only 100K miles, then I will think of selling the car. Thx. Art
