I know this subject has been ridden hard but I just returned from the dealer where I got a 4-wheel alignment (I'd do that too but can't afford the equipment).
I asked several service writers what they had seen and what they thought about the timing belt interval on my Volvo (recommended @ 105K). One said go 105K because he hadn't seen any fail, and another guy said he had seen them fail as early as 90k. AT this dealership that translates to about a five thousand dollar repair--new engine, no rebuild.
What have you guys seen in terms of condition when changing your timing belts? I know some have gone past recommended and some have changed before to well before recommended mileage. I was thinking of doing mine @ 90K, but now am considering doing it before, say 80-85K.
Thanks to all
