mph to km/h conversion 850

I just did an MPH to Km/h conversion on an 850. I noticed that the locations of the markings are a little different between the american cluster and the canadian cluster. Does this mean that the canadian cluster might not be properly calibrated, or is there a chip in the cluster that deals with that matter? If not, i'm gonna have to make-do with this for the time being, becuase the gas gauge actually works on this cluster.I have anther mph cluster, but I wont be able to get to it until monday or tuesday.
