I replaced the thermostat in my 850 the other day, the only thing I did differently than the instructions on bay 13 was that I didn't drain the coolant. Instead I removed the thermostat and allowed the coolant to leak until I finished the job. There are no leaks anywhere. I am getting a strong coolant smell when the car gets up to temperature (3 o'clock). I figured some coolant deposited on the engine somewhere was causing the odor and it would evaporate eventually but it hasn't been the case. I'm thinking heater core but I dont have any leaks inside the car. Any help would be great! Otherwise I will slowly kill off our families brain cells with the fumes.
