I have a 1999 T5 manual and started experiencing a loud "snow tire" like roar from my wheels or bearings as the car rolled. The sound increases with speed, but is not related to rpms of the engine (still roars if I coast in neutral) and is unrelated to corners or "load" (acceleration or going up hills). I have felt all the rotors...no heat build up on any hub. I thought that this was related to snow tire installation last month, but just put my summer tires back on and the roar persists...no change. This is a front drive volvo, not awd. Any ideas? Doesn't sound like the classic wheel bearing (hub) issue reported on the board. There is no clunking or vibration in turns, so it doesn't sound like a CV joint. What else is thee?
