two questions. Is there a definitive way to identify when the rear shocks need replacing? it's an 96 850 with about 145,000 regular use miles, still rides great and does not bounce on the springs. Seems like they are good but maybe I'm just use to the ride if they have deteriorated slowly over the years.
second question. What is a reasonable replacement shock for regular use? I don't need high performance, high technology and don't want high prices. OEM have done a good job but they are $130 a piece plus an adapter kit for about ten more. Sears and the auto stores have Monroes and Gabriels from about 35 on up to 60 a piece.
Any experiences or preferences would be welcome.
thanks
