Thanks to the Brickboard, my 1994 850 is up an running again.
My wife went to start the car on an extremely cold morning, -10F
The battery was pretty much dead, but she continued to turn
the car over (very slowly) until the battery was completely flat.
Got a new battery, but the car simply would not start. I thought
perhaps I had a frozen gas line as it was getting spark, but
not starting. Turns out that it was flooded from the earlier slow
cranking.
I found the solution by going through previous 850 posts.
Pull the fuel pump fuse, crank the motor for 8 seconds
with the throttle all the way open - do this four times.
Wait a few minutes, replace the fuel pump fuse, crank
the motor again with the throttle wide open.
That worked, it's running great now. Moral of the story is
don't let your battery get that bad or don't crank the motor
excessively when trying to start.
