Hello 850 aficionados,

I recently told my backyard mechanic to clean the PCV system in my 1996 850 GLT (automatic, 110K) and to flush the tranny fluid. Since he made these adjustments, the brick now has a whirring noise when I accelerate in around-town driving. The noise sounds a bit like a fan, and as the rpm drops, so does the pitch (likewise, the pitch gets higher as rpm goes up). In general, the brick also feels far less peppy than before.

Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
