Time to put winter rims and tires on the S80 S80

My wife's S80 has the 17" Arakis rims on it. The Michelin Pilots are bald. New ones do not perform much better in the snow than the bald ones as they really are not intended for snow use. I am looking for some 15 or 16 inch Volvo rims so I can put some good all season type tires on it for the winter - then I'll buy new Pilots for the 17 inch rims next spring. My questions are:

Will all Volvo rims fit on this car? I assume if I find some 15" rims off an 850 they will fit.

I'd like to get some thin tires (better in the snow). How do I make sure I get the correct height tires so the speedometer works correctly?

I've also heard that Ford rims will fit on this car. Is this true?

Thanks in advance for your response.
