Hoses and low boost problems: be sure to check all 850 1990

My recent experience is a reminder to check all hoses. This was the typical low boost experience as seen here and Bay 13 where the boost was minimal and everything seemed to check out. We even replaced the cat and O2 sensors. Last week son and I went over the car again and there it was, a longitudinal crack on top of the hose from the ISM to the vacuum tree. The crack looked initially like it was a line from the manufacture of the hose. We duct taped it and boost went significantly upward and once I replaced the hose, the car moves very quickly.

Lesson: check hoses and check again, even the hidden ones near the throttle assembly.
