Control arms replacement S40-V40 1998

The front suspension lower control arms on my S40 needs replacement, because the ball joints are worn. If it was a newer model I would not mind taking it to the dealers, but this one is already 7 years old... What's involved in replacing the control arms? Any special tools required? Thanks.
