I have a 1996 850 Volvo Wagon, manual transmission. I recently had my car serviced at a Certified Volvo Dealership at the 12,000 mile service. I drov eit for a few weeks, the check engine light came on. Took it back and they told me both O2 sensors had to be replaced. I went on my way after paying big bucks for both sensors. I drove the car for about 2 weeks. We had a hard rain. I drove through a puddle and the Check Engine Light came on again! I drove the car for about a week with the Check Engine Light on. All of a sudden, it started to run really rough (sputtering) and the light started to flash.
I brought it to the same dealership (as there is only one in my area that are certified Volvo Mechanics) on a Monday. They noted that a mechanic was out and they were backed up with cars whose owners had made appointments so mine would not take priority. I called the next day to see if they had looked at it. "No they had not as they were having trouble with some of the other vehicles" they replied. Second day with no vehicle. I called the third day, "It is on the list, we'll call when we have an idea". They never looked at it. On the fourth day, I received a call and they informed me that it was the distributor, rotor, wires and plugs. Now I had assumed they had changed out these items during the last service. I am fed up with this dealership and the service they are providing. I know I did not purchase the car through their dealership but I have had it serviced there as well as the previous owner.
Does anyone know here can I make a formal complaint to Volvo?
