I’m having trouble with my 2000 Volvo V70m. I can’t open the hood. Pulling on the handle it’s apparent right off that something is broken/stuck, because under normal operation the hood’s 2 side latch’s release, the hood should pop up about an inch and then one releases it fully with the hand latch at the center of the hood.
When I pull the handle now, nothing happens. If I get someone to pull on the handle I can walk to the front of the car and manually pull up on one side of the hood, drivers side, and then releases but the passenger side does not. On this model, I believe that there are 2 cables: 1st from the handle to the driver side latch and then 2nd from that latch across the car to the passenger side latch. It must be the cross cable that is not working.
Anyone have any ideas on how I can get this open? With out cutting the car in half. Was thinking about removing the fender but I do not think that will give you access to the latch. Can the latch be manually operated?
Thought/ ideas would be great.
