850 won't start, sometimes 850 1995

I've been having problems starting my 1995 volvo 850. This happens rarely and always after I have driven the car for a while. When I try to start the car the engine will not even turn over and the hazzards begin to flash, after about 5 minutes they shut off. Then everytime I open the door or turn the key they begin to flash again. This has only happened a couple of times before and I'd let the car cool down for a while and then it would start. But now I can't even get it to start. Originally I thought it may be the battery but this doesn't seem to be the case. Then I thought maybe the fuses or something overheating. Can anybody help? Thanks.

I am having similar problems with my '98 S70, basically the same car. If Volvo has this problem across 3 model years, there must be acommon fault and a common cure. Who has an explanation and a cure? My vehicle acts dead after sitting for 20-30 minutes after a drive of several miles. It will start if jumped or if it sits for more than an hour. It is a hot weather phenomenon. Are we alone? I doubt it.

This just happened to our 850 the other day. I disconnected the battery cable for a couple of minutes and it's been ok since.

How about the shift up arrow. Does it come on? If so, sounds like a PNP Switch gone bad. Check this out for the R&R:
