Leaking sunroof V70-XC70 1998

The seal around my sun roof is leaking. Just a drop at a time, but right in the lap! It appears that someone has already removed the seal and did a poor job of reglueing it back on.
The question is: what kind of glue should I use and do I need to buy another seal or can I reuse/clean the rubber seal that is on there now?
September will be a good month to do this,

Thanks,
Klaus

Hi Klaus,
I would use clear silicone; but before doing that, you may want to run a thin bead of Vaseline around the rubber seal. This may stop the leak without having to go through using any adhesive at all.

3M makes a weatherstrip adhesive that's incredibly sticky. It comes in a red & white tube. The goo is black in color.

They also make another product that is yellow in color.

3M also makes a great product called General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner, part number 051135-08984. It's safe to use on cured paint and removes silicone, wax, grease, tar, oil, etc. Product comes in a red & white qrt. size can.

Clean it well to get all dust and grease off and try contact cement. I have used it on other seals. Kind of messy and you do have to hit surfaces together accurately the first time. You probably have used it in other home projects.
Other suggestion would be to ask a body shop what they use.
