Gas Gauge Reading Low 850

Suddenly my gas gauge is reading 6 gallons low. Fillup only shows 12 gallons. I suspect the sender unit in the tank. Has anyone had any experience replaceing this? I checked Volvospeed Bay 13 without any luck.

    Did you have any other symptoms, such as difficult starting? I'm curious because I've been having similar issues with my '95 850T wagon (200K). My gas gauge will read a couple of gallons below 18 when full, but it only happens from time-to-time. I just replaced the fuel pump and probably should have done the sending unit at the same time.

    Go to this page and scroll down to "fuel level sending unit" and "float".

    Just gain access through your trunk, to the gasketed flange under the carpeting. The fuel level sending unit is right in there. It's easy to change... I recently changed mine at the same time I was replacing the fuel pump.
