Unlocking Radio with the correct code

After re-connecting the battery, I incorrectly entered the wrong code 3 times. (I used the code for my other Volvo). The radio is now locked up and showing "off". I have disconnected the battery again (for extended time) in the hope of it allowing me to enter the correct code upon re-connection of power. Obviously, this did not work.

What do I need to do to get the locked radio to allow me to re-enter the proper code???

    The radio needs to be "turned on" for two hours before it will accept a new code. Make sure your headlights are off before leaving the key in the acc or pos I. To turn the running lights off, turn the screw at the light switch to 11:00.
