Crap of all crap. Recorded a gig last night and my equpiment rack in slid on a quick turn (crazy LA drivers...) into the rear cargo window... the dealer wants $460 + $100 to install -- any other sources? The other local places want around $650 installed.

Hello:

You should be able to claim on your insurance under your comprehensive policy (non-collision). It won't affect your rates and if your deductible is low enough, it may be worth it. My front wind screen cracked and was about 800.00 installed (Pilkington) in San Francisco (where everything is more expensive). My ded. was $250.00 so it was well worth it.
