The odometer on my '95 850 works intermittently, ususally not, and the numbers don't scroll smoothly. I pulled the instrument cluster to check the two gears that usually cause problems. They looked okay, I replaced them anyway, but the problem remains. I'm thinking of pulling the cluster out again to see if I could find anything causing it to jam. Anyone else run into this or any thoughts on what my options are?

    It could be something in the wiring, did you find any codes?

      Also do you have a abs light on or tracs light on. I had a 96 850 and the speedp, check engine and tracs light was on and it ended up being the abs module.

        I just noticed the thread with the abs issues. I've had no lights or issues with abs or tracs, and no check engine light. When the numbers do turn, it's not smoothly, so I've got a feeling it's a mechanical problem.

          Our old 850, though it had the gear replaced too and that fixed the odo problem, the numbers were never rotating smoothly. Maybe this will help...or was there ever a time you remember when they did come up smoothly?
