P0108 V70-XC70 1998

HI,

THe Check Engine light came on and I used my Equus scanner and I am getting P0108 which is the MAP sensor.

Does the volvo have MAP sensor? where is it located and is this a DIY job?

Any help would be appreciated.

This is my wife's V70R 1998.

This is actually the alitimiter sensor, which is located on the passenger side behind the headlight on a little piece of metal, it has a purple or pinkish connector, it is small. I just bought one at the dealer, $160. Very easy to replace though

It's the "air mass"sensor located just after the air cleaner. I was able to remove and clean with electronic cleaner. Has been 1 year without a problem. Use your wifes blow dryer to heat up the air mass connection that is on the throttle body side and it will come off easily after removing clamp..
It's certainly worth a try since the sensor is 100.00+
Be sure and use a cleaner that doesn't leave a residue. Do not try to disassemble the sensor! When you look in the body of the unit you will see the filament insert. Uses a #25 tork to remove two screws on the air cleaner side.

P0108-not AMM. MAP which is different V70-XC70 1998

Actually the MAP is the manifold absolute pressure sensor and is located just behind the passenger side headlight. As I recall, it angles down at about a 45 degree angle, and get this, costs upwards of $150. Try unplugging and re-connecting a couple of times, clear the code, and see if it returns. If it does, you should be able to source one on the internet. Start with

Good luck.
