The master door locking mechanism broke, so my indy ordered a new one from Volvo, which is one large piece that fits into the driver's door. The new part is installed, and now the driver's door will lock and unlock with the key and the remote, but it has no affect on the other doors, trunk, or gas tank door. It's as if there is no communication between the driver door and the rest of the car. With the new mechanism, we expected everything to work again. Any ideas on what to do now? Before we ordered the new part, the remote didn't work at all, and the driver door would only lock and unlock with the key. None of the other doors, trunk or gas tank door would work except manually. Assuming the mechanism broke, we thought putting in a new one would fix the problem.

Does it need to be programmed some how, or is there something else that we should be looking at? Thanks for any help! You folks always bail me out of my car problems and I'm hoping for help again!

if your 850 is fitted with anti high-jack switch on the lhf door near window switch it is most likely this switch is faulty

Do the rear passenger doors, fuel door etc follow the passenger door when it is locked? When the drivers door, passenger or trunk/hatch doors are locked all the other locks should follow. If this doesn't happen then you are looking at your central locking controller for a fault.

No, the other doors don't follow the passenger door. Is the central locking controller the same as the large unit we put in the door (that includes the latch?) We replaced that, and things still didn't work, so we replaced the relay, also. When we did that, the driver door lock would work the passenger door and sometimes - only sometimes - the fuel door lock, but nothing else. Now what? The wiring diagrams appear to indicate that everything should be working after replacing these parts, but we've obviously missed something. PLEASE offer any tips!!!!!!!! Thanks!
