Headlight Wiper Motor 850

My drivers side headlight wiper motor stopped working, so I bought a used one. Installed it this eve, it works, but not like it should. When you pull the washer handle and hold it on to activate the headlight wipers, both move as they should, but when I let go of the washer handle, the drivers side usually stops in the up position while the passenger side continues to wipe for another second or two before it settles down where it should. If I tap the washer handle on and off for a split second, the drivers side moves only step by step with me so I can get it down where it belongs, yet as I tap the washer handle for split seconds, the passenger side will wipe in full motion as it should. Why does this happen? Is this used motor bad? Is there any adjustment that can be made to the motor so it cycles full to the stop position?

If it's not too big a job you could try swapping the motors to see what happens but it looks like its the motor.

The motor could be bad, or wearing out. I replaced the pass side motor a while back and just lately, it took a direct it with a piece of retread. Of course, it is broken again. I decided to pack in the wipers this time. I ordered a pair of fascia pieces from volvoworld - took forever to get one sent to me, BTW, but eventually I painted them to match. There are no holes on these parts, but it is clear where they would be punched out from the back. I like the look of the wipers, but really they have never performed to a level I have liked. Volvo is switching to nozzles now since they are stopping the use of glass lenses - euro regulations require it to prevent scratching of the plastic lens.
