Flasing bulb warning light on 95 850. 1995

I seem to have no bad bulbs anywhere , yet the bad bulb light flashes for a sec, not staying on for more than a second, when I step on the brake pedal. Any suggestions? recently had the rear brakes done. Thanks, Larry

    Did you replace the stop lamp bulb or bulbs recently? On my 850 and 240 volvos the bulb warning would sometimes come on if there were 2 different brand bulbs in a particular circuit, probably due to slightly different current draw.

      The owner's manual warns to change both sides at the same time - I guess this is why. Personally, I just replaced the second of 4 tail lights without a hitch. Maybe because there are two on each side the circuit isn't as sensitive when one is replaced...
