cd stuck in 6 disk changer

Well the title pretty much says it all. I have a '97 850 R with a factory 6 disk changer in the trunk and now I have a disk stuck in the player. The cartridge will eject but the one cd stays in the player. Any one have any clue as to how to fix this without having to go back to Volvo with it?

Obviously you have put an empty cassette in there and tried to get it to eject into the cassette, right? Beyond that it is a matter of going in there with a pair of angled hemostats, the long ones, and pulling it out. No real secret or magic touch there, just pull it out.

My 93 does the same thing once and a while. What I have done to solve it is not very well proven, but it seems to work. I reach in to the disk and spin it slightly one way or another with my finger. Place the cartridge back in and hit eject. Sometimes this works right away, other times I need to repeat it two to three times. I am not sure if spinning the disk clears the fault, or just pressing down on the carrier, just know it works.

Well I have tried to spin the disk and even tried to remove it by force but the tray is all the way at the bottom and I cannot get the disk out. Spinning the disk does not seem to work, I tried many times and I still get the error code. I tried pulling the disk out but it wants to come out under the metal tray that houses the cassette. Any ideas?

When the disc is all the way down it is in the play postion. I am fairly certain it won't pull out easy that way. Like I stated earlier, I just try to spin the disk and then install the cartridge wait a few seconds and hit the eject button to kick it back out if the player sees the disc in the play position it will eject it into the cartridge prior to ejecting. I do this with the car off and the radio off.
I guess if the disk is truely stuck, it is not too bad to remove the unit and take it aprt. I have done that as well to oil the mechanism and such. The power wire comes from the power ant. and the radio cable unplugs from the unit. 30-45 minutes of work to remove. Take off cover, remove the stuck disc, and 30-45 minutes to put back in.
