Weird Electrical Problem 850

Occasionally my car has the following symptoms:

1-brake interlock with gear shift does not work
2-speedo does not work
3-turn signals do not work

They all coma and go together and are intermittent.

What is the common element?

Weird Electrical Problem 850

Electrical portion of ignition switch. Next time it happens, try jiggling the key and see if they come back to life. Very common problem. See bay 13 for instructions.

Weird Electrical Problem 850 1993

I am having the same problem - I don't have any gauges and the low fuel light and service engine light are flashing - I have tried to pull a code from terminal 7 but all it is doing is flashing rapidly. I checked all the fuses and relays in the engine and tried to get under the dash for the additional relays but they did not have anything to do with the instruments. Now the blinkers keep blowing their fuse as well.
I tried to jiggle the switch but that didn't seem to make a difference. I have read it might be a battery or an alternator problem. I cleaned all the grounds as well and it went away but it has come back. I hope someone can shed some light on this. Thanks.

I'm guessing the ignition switch is toast. Fiddling with it seems to remove the problem. Thanks for the diagnostic help.
