DIGITAL TEMPERATURE READ OUT/ SENSOR 850

Just wondered about the digital readout on our dash of the outside temperature.
Lately it has been around 90 degrees outside and even after getting the car moving with some air flow it still reads 110 degrees.
Is this normal or does the engine heat and other things come into play to increase the readout? Just wondered if my sensor is shot or just doing it's
job. Duirng the summer months it does not seem to be very accurate.

DIGITAL TEMPERATURE READ OUT/ SENSOR 850

Mr. Detail--the engine sensor is clipped up in front of the radiator by the bottom of it. It looks like a two-lead connector that has come loose and is just hanging down, making you wonder where it clipped in to. On my 97 GLT it came loose from its little connector and was hanging down by the edge of the radiator, which gave me the same problem you have. You might have to pull the plastic catch pan off to look up there, but I seem to recall seeing mine hanging down by the bottom edge of the radiator without removing the pan. Can't remember where it was clipped in place, but you obviously don't want it leaning up against the radiator like mine. Check to make sure it isn't before exploring any further Dick
