OBD II reader at Harbor Freight

Price is $39.95 at this point. Picked one up and it does work. Even cancels out check engine light if no codes are found.

A lot of guys swear by HF's OBD-2 unit. . I don't have their scanner as everything I've bought from them turned out to be a
door stop. I found out the hard way that they usually ship (1) parcel post that can take 14-30 days depending on where you live and (2) their "free shipping" ain't free. When you get the invoice, you'll
find they screwed you with a $10-12 buck "handling fee". They're kind of a low rent outfit IMHO that peddles basically chinese crap.

I don't understand... a check engine light must have a code set, somewhere.

Code was not there at the check time and it did turn off the light. Anyway, it did not return----yet. We shall see. This is on a 94 850 which has both the OBDII and the original "push the button and plug the cable".

That's exactly the problem with it. It does NOT display the codes (at least not the P0410 I knew for fact was there). But it DOES turn off the CEL. I even ordered a replacement unit, which behaved identically, so I finally returned the POS for a refund. I ended up buying the Equus/INNOVA 3100 OBD II Code Reader (http://www.iequus.com/item.asp?cid=10&pid=3100) which works fine on my 850 as well as my 97 Dodge Neon.
