850T tranny problems....won't shift up a gear.

I am encountering a tranny problem when towing with my 850 Turbo. After towing uphill for a period of time and reaching a flat part in the road, the tranny will not shift up to a higher gear. If I pull over, and row through the gears, all seems to be well.

Any idea why it is not shifting up? I'm assuming foaming /hot oil is a contributing factor.

The car has only 100k on it, and I am towing a 2300lbs pop-up.
Thanks,
Craig

That's pushing the limit for towing capacity. I suggest you downshift to third if your rpms are low while going up hill. There is probably a code set that could be read. Have you flushed the tranny lately? Pulling a trailer will create a lot of strain and wear on the internal pumps.
As for rowing, that probably let the tranny fluid cool off just enough to function normally.
