Is 'pedal position sensor' same as throttle position sensor? not brake pedal 850

I am troubleshooting a premature downshifting problem. Its getting worse. The sensor is on the throttle body, the code that was set when I started car without it hooked up was "pedal position" P0120TPS. I accidentally drove a mile with it disconnected. Flashing arrow, hard shifts.

    The pedal position sensor IS the throttle position sensor

    I replaced mine last fall and I had exactly the same symptoms
